Dangote University Kano to develop robotic machine for washing, sweeping, other chores

The Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil, now known as Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, is in the process of developing a robotic machine designed to assist staff with domestic chores such as washing, sweeping, and organising within the institution.

Professor Musa Yakasai, the vice chancellor of the university, shared with the media that the robotic machine aims to enhance staff productivity by aiding them in their duties.

He said the university’s management has made significant advancements in utilising Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology, empowering students to engage with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the global IT transformation.

According to Professor Yakasai, the robot has undergone successful testing and currently operates flawlessly in accordance with its design.

Additionally, the university is committed to creating various types of machines to alleviate the workload within the institution.

Furthermore, the vice chancellor highlighted that the institution’s newly renovated library can accommodate over 500 students and is equipped with full internet connectivity and other IT resources.

Though the university has developed a fully functional e-library, students are encouraged to embrace the traditional library system to foster an improved reading culture.
