Gov. Buni declares Wednesday work free day in honour of former Gov. Bukar Abba

The Yobe State Governor His Excellency Mai Mala Buni, CON, has declared Wednesday, 7th February 2024, as a work free day to observe the third day prayers for late former Governor of the state, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim.

A statement issued by Mamman Mohammed, Director General, Press, and Media Affairs, to Yobe Governor, said that Gov. Buni gave the declaration on Tuesday, saying the day should be used to offer prayers for the former Governor who died in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

He urged the people of the state to use the period to pray for the repose of the soul of the late governor.

The three days prayers for the late former governor who died and was buried in the Holy Land will be offered at the Government House Mosque, Damaturu.

Yobe State Government officially took over the funeral and condolences rites to honour the late governor.

Governor Buni, in the company of government officials and the family of the late governor, have been receiving condolences from sympathisers from within and outside the state at Government House Damaturu.

Neptune Prime reports that late Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim died at the age of 74 after a protracted illness at Saudi-German Hospital in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

He was a three-time governor and three-time senator of Yobe State. He was buried on Monday, 5th February 2024, according to Islamic rites.
