Gunmen kill Kwara traditional ruler in his palace, kidnap wife, 2 others
Gunmen have attacked and killed Oba Segun Aremu-Cole in his palace at Koro town in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the palace of the monarch around 7 pm and fired gunshots that hit the traditional ruler while abducting his wife and two others.
Neptune Prime reports that less than a week ago, kidnappers ambushed and killed two traditional rulers on their way back from a security meeting in in Irele-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The deceased monarchs are the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Ogunsola.
Meanwhile, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has confirmed the death of Oba Segun Aremu-Cole in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
AbdulRazaq condemned the killing of the monarch and promised to bring the attackers to book.
The statement reads, “The monarch was reportedly shot dead in his palace on Thursday night by some unknown gunmen, who also whisked away his wife and two others.
“The governor condemned the development, which he said was reckless, shocking, and abominable.
“He charged the security agencies not to spare any resources to track down the perpetrators, free the spouse and others taken away, and bring them to book.
“We will certainly get the perpetrators and ensure that this is their last crime against humanity.
“My profound condolences go to the people of Koro. Our hearts are broken, and we stand by them at this time and always.”
