KACRAN commends Yobe Governor’s success in tackling farmers/herders conflicts
The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) is urging the Federal Government and Northern Governors to follow the exemplary lead of Governor Mai Mala Buni in resolving Farmers/Herders conflicts.
The recent handling of conflicts in Yobe State has garnered commendation for Governor Buni’s proactive measures.
Unexpected conflicts surfaced in the Fika and Gujba Local Government Areas of Yobe, prompting Governor Buni to exhibit remarkable leadership.
Swiftly forming conflict resolution committees, the governor ensured the inclusion of representatives from various stakeholders, including Herders, Farmers, royal Highness representatives, and security operatives.
These committees were tasked with identifying root causes and developing strategies to prevent future incidents.

Governor Buni’s directives extended to Local Government Chairmen, urging them to establish similar committees in their respective areas. The emphasis on the significance of peace and harmony in the state led to a ripple effect of positive actions.
In response, KACRAN initiated a sensitization campaign to reinforce peaceful coexistence among its members and neighboring communities.
Traditional rulers were also entrusted with organising security meetings within their jurisdictions to uphold peace. Stakeholders, comprising security personnel, heads of Farmers and Herders associations, and community leaders, actively engaged in discussions aimed at maintaining unity and stability.
The collaborative efforts and positive response from stakeholders reflect a shared commitment to finding lasting solutions.
KACRAN, recognising Governor Buni’s dedication to conflict resolution, now calls upon other Governors to adopt similar proactive measures in addressing Farmers/Herders conflicts nationwide.
