Police raid results in death of prime suspect in Rivers DPO murder
A significant police operation in Rivers state resulted in the reported death of Gift Okpara, known as 2Baba, the primary suspect in the brutal murder of former Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim.
During a coordinated land and aerial raid at the hideout of the infamous cult leader and his gang, 2Baba was allegedly hit multiple times and is feared dead according to senior police sources.
The raid took place in Idu-Ekpeye, Ahoada East local government area of the state, following the capture and killing of Angbashim by 2Baba’s gang in September 2023.

“While there is no official confirmation regarding 2Baba’s death, the communities in Ahoada expressed jubilation at the news,” states an unnamed source.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP. Olatunji Disu, received praise for his efforts to combat terrorism in the area.
The police have not officially confirmed 2Baba’s death, but reports suggest that the communities are relieved by the potential demise of the notorious cult leader.
