24-year-old man in Ogun State arrested for allegedly raping JSS1 student
The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended Gadafi Bala, a 24-year-old man, on charges of raping a Junior Secondary School (JSS1) student from Aderegun Community High School in Ogijo, Sagamu.
According to a statement released by SP Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the command, the report was received from Ifesowapo Otitoloju CDA in Ilara Ogijo, alleging that the student was sexually assaulted by Bala.
Upon receiving the report, the Division Police Officer of Ogijo Division promptly visited the victim and facilitated her medical examination. The examination results confirmed that the victim had been subjected to unlawful sexual activity by Gadafi Bala.
SP Omolola Odutola emphasized the severity of such crimes, stating that perpetrators would face legal consequences for violating human rights. Following the confirmation of the examination results by a government hospital doctor, Gadafi was swiftly apprehended.

Preliminary investigations have commenced into the matter, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough and discreet investigation.
