Bandits attack Kaduna primary school, abduct dozens of pupils

Tension gripped Kuriga town in Kaduna State as armed bandits stormed LEA Primary School, Kuriga (1), and kidnapped an unknown number of pupils.

Reports indicate that the abducted victims, estimated to be around 100, include the head teacher and other school staff.

The incident occurred around 8:20am following the morning assembly on Thursday.

It was revealed that the school previously relocated to the town due to security challenges, abandoning its former site outside the town.

Eyewitnesses mentioned that the pupils fled their classrooms upon spotting the bandits on the school grounds. The abducted victims were reportedly taken into the nearby forest.

Efforts to obtain an official statement from the state government were unsuccessful at the time of this report, as there has been no response from relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs and the State Police Command.
