Customs, Nasarawa State Housing Project collaborates to boost officers welfare (Pictures)

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nasarawa State Government Housing Commission joined hands on March 11, 2024, to elevate the living standards of customs personnel.

The collaboration saw the commissioning of the Nasarawa State Technology Village Phase 1 in Aso Pada, Maraba-Nasarawa State.

Representing the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Deputy Comptroller General of Customs Festus Okun reiterated the NCS’s dedication to officer welfare, highlighting the provision of housing as a tangible demonstration of this commitment.

CGC Adeniyi emphasized that the newly commissioned houses would be allocated to officers, emphasizing the significance of providing accommodation for those serving the nation.

He extended gratitude to the Nasarawa State government, project supporters, and the community, promising continued collaboration for the project’s prosperity.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State disclosed that the NCS has acquired the initial 100 units of three-bedroom bungalows, securing a credit line of 12.5 billion naira with Mega Capital for financing.

The project has generated employment for 69,000 skilled and unskilled workers, contributing to its successful realisation.

Furthermore, Governor Sule unveiled plans for an access route linking the Village to Abuja, enhancing connectivity and integrating the innovative community into the broader region.
