Delta community razed following killing of 16 soldiers
In the aftermath of the tragic deaths of 16 soldiers in Delta State, the community where the incident occurred has been completely razed, as reported by Channels Television.
The Nigerian military confirmed the deaths, including four officers, acknowledging the devastating loss.
The soldiers, including a commanding officer, two majors, one captain, and 12 soldiers, were deployed to mediate in the conflict between the Okuama and Okoloba communities in Delta State.
Reports indicate that the coastal Okuama community, where the soldiers were killed, was destroyed on Sunday morning. While the exact perpetrators remain unclear, residents have fled to neighbouring communities out of fear of potential reprisals.

Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the military spokesperson, stated that an investigation would be conducted to hold those responsible accountable. So far, some suspects have been apprehended, but there is no evidence implicating soldiers in the community’s burning.
