Emefiele packs out of CBN governor’s quarters
Embattled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, is in the process of relocating from the official residence designated for CBN Governors in Lagos.
Accompanied by a team led by CBN Special Investigator, Jim Obazee, Emefiele is seen moving his personal belongings from the quarters situated on Glover Road, Ikoyi.
The Federal Government has levied 14 new charges against Emefiele, prompted by findings from the CBN special investigator’s report. These charges include criminal breach of trust, forgery, conspiracy to conduct forgery, procurement fraud, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Emefiele, ousted from his position as CBN Governor by President Bola Tinubu in June 2023, faces allegations related to financial crimes.
Additionally, the Senate has initiated an inquiry into the utilisation of the N30 trillion Ways and Means loans acquired and expended during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Senate attributes the nation’s food and security crises to the purported reckless spending of the loan obtained under Emefiele’s leadership.
