Group sues Gov Inuwa, Emir of Pindiga over mosque reconstruction halt

Story from, Najib Sani ADAMU.

The “Tumu Concerned Residents” group from the Tumu community in Akko local government area of Gombe State has initiated legal proceedings against Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya and Emir of Pindiga Ahmed Seyoji Mohammed.

The lawsuit alleges that they obstructed Senator Danjuma Goje from reconstructing the central mosque in the area. Other defendants in the suit include the state’s Attorney General and the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs.

Residents, expressing their discontent over the halted mosque reconstruction, filed the lawsuit seeking court intervention to prevent the defendants from impeding the community’s development initiative. READ ALSO: Fire engulfs Gombe Central Medical Store, destroys vaccines worth N5bn, others

The legal action follows recent allegations by an aide to Senator Goje, Adamu Mohammed Manga, claiming that the Emir warned against the project, citing potential consequences from Governor Inuwa.

In response, the Pindiga emirate council issued a press release asserting that the two mosques are in good condition and don’t require reconstruction, urging Senator Goje to contribute alternative development projects to the area.
