Husband alleges wife’s stabbing attempt, seeks divorce in Court
A businessman, Mr. Ojo Owo, submitted a divorce petition at a Customary Court in Jikwoyi, near Abuja, alleging that his wife, Muyibat, tried to stab him during a heated argument.
Owo claimed, “One night, my wife took the kitchen knife and attempted to kill me over a little misunderstanding, boasting about destroying me completely.”
In the divorce petition, Owo detailed the respondent’s alleged traits, describing her as “stubborn, disrespectful, mannerless, diabolical, and unfriendly.”
He asserted that constant fights led to his high blood pressure, compelling him to abandon their matrimonial home for safety due to the respondent’s threatening behavior.
The petitioner pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage and grant him custody of the children. Muyibat, a businesswoman, refuted the accusations.

The presiding Judge, Thelma Baba, urged the couple to seek an amicable settlement for the children’s sake and adjourned the matter until March 7 for further proceedings.
