IPOB/ESN attack, set police station ablaze in Anambra
Unidentified gunmen suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), an armed group affiliated with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)have launched an attack on Neni Divisional Police station in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, setting the facility ablaze.
Reports indicate that approximately thirty attackers carried out the assault around 2am on Thursday morning, causing significant damage to buildings in the area.
According to the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the perpetrators used Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during the attack.
However, he assured that no firearms were taken, and no police personnel were kidnapped.
Authorities managed to deter the hoodlums with superior firepower, forcing them to retreat adding that tactical operations are ongoing in the locality.

SP Ikenga promised to provide further updates on the situation promptly and did not specify the extent of damage incurred by the police station.
