Jamila, Neptune Prime staff, loses father aged 69

Neptune Prime’s CEO, Dr. Hassan Gimba, and the entire team extend their deepest sympathies to Jamila Yunusa Sulaiman, a staff of the organisation,  following the passing of her father.

In a united show of support, the company stands alongside Jamila during this challenging period. Dr. Gimba underscores the company’s solidarity with Jamila and her family, expressing, “We are profoundly saddened by their loss and extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers.”

Fellow colleagues at Neptune Prime join in offering words of comfort to Jamila, ensuring she receives unwavering support throughout her mourning journey.

Professor Muhammad Bello Yunusa (MB), affectionately known as (Saturday) he died in Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria, after battling a prolonged illness.

A distinguished figure and influential member of the Planning Family in Nigeria, the late professor will be laid to rest this morning in his hometown, Dekina local government area of Kogi state, in accordance with Islamic customs.

Prior to his demise, he held various esteemed positions within the university, including serving as the pioneer Director of World Bank Africa Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement.

Additionally, he contributed significantly as the Managing Director of Ahmadu Bello University Consultancy Services, as well as serving as Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design and Head of the Urban and Regional Planning Department.

Renowned for his devout religious convictions and humble demeanor, Professor MB was honored as a Laureate Fellow of the CODESRIA Institute, Dakar, Senegal. He dedicated himself to serving the Institute and the Town Planning Profession in diverse roles, notably as Chairman of the NITP Examination Board, a position he held until his passing.

With a legacy spanning generations, Professor MB leaves behind 13 children and 9 grandchildren.
