NYSC denies posting corps member to Oyo Amotekun

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Oyo State has swiftly refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the deployment of corps members to Amotekun, the Western Nigeria Security Network.

In a statement issued by Ms. Christy Olatoye, the NYSC’s Assistant Director of Press and Public Relations in Oyo State, the organization categorically denied the authenticity of the viral report, asserting that Amotekun was not listed as an employer in the NYSC database.

While acknowledging the significance of Amotekun as a reputable security organization in the state, Olatoye emphasized that no official posting letter for such deployment originated from the NYSC Oyo State.

Furthermore, Olatoye cautioned against the propagation of false information, urging individuals to refrain from misrepresenting the NYSC’s esteemed program, which has served the nation diligently for over five decades, garnering commendable achievements along the way.

She emphasized that the NYSC Corps should not be exploited as a subject of jest or prank, emphasizing its significance as a national institution dedicated to youth development and nation-building.
