Tragic incident in Enugu as mother of 3 dies in suicide attempt
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a mother of three tragically lost her life after abandoning her children at a police station in Enugu and running into a moving vehicle.
The woman, whose identity remains unknown made the decision to end her suffering by taking her own life.
Witnesses recounted how she arrived at the Ogui Road police station with her three young children, handed them over to officers, removed her clothing, and purposefully ran into the path of a moving vehicle, which resulted in her death.
The children, aged six, four, and two, were left behind, with their father reportedly having abandoned the family months earlier due to financial hardship.
The wife of the Enugu State governor, Nkechinyere Mbah, visited the police station after she was notified of the tragic event and expressed her deep concern.

Moved by the plight of the children, she vowed to support and care for them, ensuring they receive education from nursery school through university.
Mbah announced that the Custos Care Foundation would sponsor the children, and she promptly arranged for their relocation to a safe home where the state government could oversee their well-being.
Stressing the importance of seeking counseling for those experiencing depression, she called for increased awareness and support for individuals struggling with mental health issues.
In response to this heartbreaking incident, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Children, Gender, and Social Development, Ngozi Enih, was urged to offer enhanced sensitisation and counseling services, particularly targeting those dealing with depression.
