Wanted Delta monarch flown to Abuja for interrogation after soldiers’ killings
The embattled Ovie of Ewu-Urhobo in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, Urhukpe 1, allegedly involved in the gruesome killing of 17 military officers in Okuoma community under his kingdom has being flown to Abuja for further interrogation.
Following his surrender to the Delta State Police Command in Asaba and subsequent notification to military authorities, the traditional ruler was moved to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Abuja on Friday morning.
Accompanied by a team of military officers, police, and personal aides, the Ewu-Urhobo monarch was escorted to the Asaba Airport by the Commanding Officer, 63 Brigade Nigeria Army, Asaba, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, and other senior military officers. The plane departed from Asaba Airport at around 9:10am bound for Abuja.
The monarch is among the eight suspects declared wanted in connection with the Okuama killings and his presence in Abuja marks the next step in the investigation into the tragic incident involving the military officers.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright, who confirmed the development, said the suspect has been handed over to the military authorities for further investigations.

In response to a question by journalists, the PPRO said: “Yes, I can confirm to you that the wanted Traditional Ruler has been handed over to military authorities.
“He is no longer in our custody. The handover process was concluded this (Friday) morning.”
