Yobe Gov. Buni, five others, appointed APC Zonal Coordinators

In yet another demonstration of appreciation and high level of confidence in his commitment to the progress, ideals and progress of the party, the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has appointed Yobe State Governor, His Excellency, Honourable Mai Mala Buni, CON, along with five other governors, as Zonal Coordinators of the party.
Other coordinators include Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, North West; Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahaman Abdulrazak, North Central;
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, South East; Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwolu, South West and Cross River State Governor, Bassey Etu, South South.
The six Governors are to coordinate and galvanize their other colleagues on the platform of the APC in their respective zones to more vigorously identify and participate in the activities of the party with the objective of strengthening and deepening of the party’s philosophy and programmes among the electorate.
Speaking at the inauguration of the six- member committee, the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, explained that the initiative was also to encourage critical stakeholders at all levels for effective participation in the activities of the party.
The committee of Governors, according to Dr Ganduje, is further expected to enhance internal cohesion, consolidation and strengthening of the party towards achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

A cross section of the leadership of the party in the Northeast zone have lauded the Dr Umar Ganduje-led NWC, for its decision to institute the Zonal Committees and especially for the selection of Governor Mala Buni as the Committee’s Coordinator in the Northeast.
Party leadership and general members who spoke with our correspondents in the six states of the zone are unanimous in their opinions that the Yobe State governor has the required capacity, the zeal and the vision to catapult the APC to greater electoral fortunes in the Northeast.
Other respondents variously described the appointment of Mai Mala Buni as a befitting reward for a faithful and dedicated party man who has always rendered selfless services that tremendously aided the APC in overcoming daunting obstacles and challenges at critical moments in the past.
A seasoned politician who has continually played different leading roles on the political stage since the commencement of the ongoing 4th Republic, Governor Mai Mala Buni has the distinction of being a foundation member of the APC, its first elected National Secretary who went on to secure a unique second term between 2014 and 2018.
Mai Mala is also widely celebrated within the APC for the role he and other members of the then NWC played towards the historic victory of the APC and of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 election.
The fifty-seven year old British educated politician is similarly respected in the political circles over his landmarks in his one-year tenure as the Chairman of the Interim Committee and later, Chairman of the APC Extraordinary Convention Committee in 2020.
