NLO suspends Katsina Referees’ Chairman, 1 other over alleged misconduct

The Nationwide League One (NLO), Nigeria’s third-tier club football league, has suspended referee Nasiru Idris of the Nigerian Referees Association (NRA) Kaduna State council, and Abdullahi Shuaibu, chairman of the NRA Katsina State chapter, over allegations of unethical conduct.

“The suspension of Nasiru Idris follows his poor handling of the match between Green Beret and Kaduna Utd, played on April 24, 2024, during the ongoing NLO 2024 competition”.

“The league’s decision to suspend Idris indefinitely is aimed at maintaining integrity and fair play in the competition”.

Olushola Ogunnowo, the Chief Operating Officer of NLO, emphasized the league’s dedication to sustainability measures and urged competing clubs and officials to have faith in the league’s integrity.

In addition to Nasiru Idris, Abdullahi Shuaibu, the chairman of the NRA Katsina State chapter, has also been suspended due to alleged unethical conduct during the ongoing 2024 NLO league season in the state.

“These disciplinary actions reflect the NLO’s zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and misconduct, ensuring a fair and transparent football environment for all stakeholders”.
