In a tragic incident, six soldiers and a volunteer hunter lost their lives during a confrontation with bandits in the Karaga and Rumace communities of Bassa ward, Shiroro local government area of Niger State.

Additionally, two farmers fell victim to the violence, and several houses, food banks, and motorcycles were set ablaze by the attackers.

This assault adds to a string of recent attacks in Shiroro and Rafi LGs of Niger State, where communities have suffered substantial losses of property and lives due to banditry.

As the communities mourn the loss of lives and grapple with the aftermath of the attack, the incident underscores the ongoing security challenges faced by residents in parts of Niger State.
