Governor Sule inaugurates technical committee on oil and gas
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has taken significant strides towards maximizing the oil and gas potential of the state by inaugurating the Advisory and Technical Committee on Oil and Gas. The governor emphasized the importance of realizing the abundant hydrocarbon resources in Nasarawa State to enhance Nigeria’s oil reserves and daily crude oil production.
The committee’s mandate includes fostering collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless implementation of oil and gas projects. Governor Sule underscored the economic benefits of oil and gas exploration, including wealth creation, employment opportunities, revenue generation, and economic growth for the state.
“I am happy to state that the discovery of oil and gas and its subsequent exploration and exploitation will further boost the economic prosperity of our dear state and put us among the committee of the oil-producing states in the country,” Governor Sule affirmed.
To ensure the success of the project, the governor emphasized the need for proactive measures and community participation. He commended the expertise and professionalism of the committee members, emphasizing their pivotal role in steering the project towards success.

The committee’s terms of reference include maintaining constant liaison with the NNPCL, ensuring compliance with oil and gas laws, facilitating corporate social responsibilities to host communities, and developing partnerships for mutual benefits.
In his remarks, Dr. Hussain Kasim, Chairman of the Advisory and Technical Committee on Oil and Gas, expressed gratitude to Governor Sule for the opportunity to contribute to the state’s development. He highlighted the governor’s visionary leadership and commitment to harnessing natural resources for sustainable progress.
