Kano Pillars Football Club has been handed a crucial ultimatum by the Kano State Government to turn around their dwindling performance in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League season, with a mandate to secure victories in their next three matches.

The directive was issued by the Acting Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Hon. Hamza Safiyanu Kachako, who emphasized the urgency of the situation during a recent announcement.

Expressing concern over the team’s recent string of disappointing results, including a 5-0 defeat by Enyimba International, Kachako stressed the significance of Kano Pillars to the people of Kano State. He highlighted the need for immediate action to uplift the team’s performance and restore confidence among fans.

While affirming the state government’s unwavering support for the team, Kachako emphasized the importance of tangible improvements in on-field performance.

The management and technical staff of Kano Pillars have been tasked with securing victories in the next three crucial matches, starting with the upcoming game against Gombe United scheduled for Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Acknowledging the team’s potential to bounce back, Kachako underscored the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the need for swift improvement as time is of the essence.

Currently occupying the 7th position on the league table with 41 points from 30 matches, Kano Pillars are urged to capitalise on the upcoming fixtures to rejuvenate their season and reclaim their position as contenders.

The state government reiterated its commitment to providing financial support to ensure the team remains competitive, reaffirming its dedication to the development of sports in Kano State.

Kachako expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Yusuf for his continuous support of Kano Pillars and called upon loyal fans to rally behind the team during this critical period, demonstrating their unwavering support.
