Maiduguri varsity lecturer brutally slain in office
A lecturer from the Department of Physical and Health Education at the University of Maiduguri, Dr. Kamal Abdulkadir, has tragically fallen victim to a vicious attack by unidentified assailants within the university premises.
The distressing incident occurred last Sunday, when Dr. Abdulkadir was mercilessly murdered in his office, leaving the campus community in shock and disbelief.
Reports indicate that not only was Dr. Abdulkadir killed in cold blood, but the assailants also callously made off with his vehicle, compounding the tragedy.
While the university administration has chosen to remain silent regarding this appalling event, ASP Nahum Daso Kenneth, the police spokesperson for the state, has assured the public of active police involvement in investigating this gruesome crime.

In a recent update, ASP Kenneth disclosed that eight suspects have been apprehended in connection to the heinous assault. Upon receiving notification of the incident, law enforcement swiftly sprang into action, leading to the arrest of the aforementioned suspects.
“The command has received a distress call regarding the murder of Dr. Kamal. It has been confirmed that he was slain in his office, and his vehicle was stolen by the perpetrators. Eight individuals have been arrested thus far, and investigations are ongoing to uncover those responsible for this despicable act,” stated ASP Kenneth.
Amidst the ongoing investigation, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) has urged the public to remain calm, assuring them that the situation is under control.
As the community grapples with the shock and grief of losing a valued member in such a tragic manner, questions linger about the motive behind this senseless act of violence, and efforts continue to bring the perpetrators to justice.
