NFF: Finidi to select assistants for Super Eagles
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that it will disclose the assistant coaches for newly appointed Super Eagles head coach Finidi George once he finalizes his choices.
Following the departure of Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro, Finidi was appointed as the substantive coach of the Super Eagles, having previously served in an interim capacity.
Amid speculation about potential assistant coaches including Emmanuel Amuneke, Michael Nsien, and Daniel Amokachi, the NFF clarified that Finidi will have the autonomy to select his assistants.
NFF’s spokesman, Ademola Olajire, emphasized that the coach will make the decision regarding his coaching staff, after which the NFF will make the official announcement.
Finidi echoed this sentiment, affirming that the appointments will be made gradually, stating, “Na small small,” meaning ‘it’s one after the other.’
During his interim stint, Finidi worked with goalkeeper trainer Olatunji Baruwa, but he will have the opportunity to assemble his full coaching staff moving forward.
