Why we charge N42m as primary school fees — Lagos school
Following public criticism of the reported N42 million annual school fees for primary school students at Charterhouse, a newly opened private British school in Lagos, the management has responded.
“Despite widespread condemnation of the exorbitant fees, the school’s director of Communications, Admissions, and Marketing, Mr. Damilola Olatunbosun, defended the pricing, stating that Charterhouse offers prestigious and value-driven education, justifying the high cost”.
Olatunbosun emphasized that “Charterhouse is not an ordinary school but a world-class educational institution, attracting parents who prioritise quality education for their children”.

“He pointed out that many parents, both in Nigeria and abroad, have expressed interest in enrolling their children at Charterhouse, recognising the value it provides”.
Addressing concerns about the affordability of the fees, Olatunbosun highlighted that Charterhouse offers comparable quality to top UK-based schools, making it a cost-effective option for parents compared to sending their children abroad for education.
Despite the backlash, Charterhouse remains steadfast in its commitment to providing value for money in education, emphasizing the unique opportunities and facilities it offers to students.
