Terrorists abduct 2 Kaduna village heads, kill 8 vigilantes
Suspected terrorists have carried out a brutal attack resulting in the deaths of eight vigilant group members and two other individuals in the communities of Kakangi and Unguwan Matinja in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Adding to the horror, the village heads of Kakangi and Kisaya have been abducted by the assailants.
Details of the attack were relayed by a resident named Idris Khalid, who described how armed men launched the assault on the villages in the early hours of Thursday.

The eight vigilante members who lost their lives in Kakangi have been identified as Bala Kamba, Abdurrahman Musa (Ubale), Kabiru Dan Dugui, Hambali Abu, Aliyu Abu, Nura Jika (Maleka), Mubarak Musa (Dan Wamba), and Ikra Hantsi. In Ungwan Matinja, the victims were Christopher Abubakar and Isah Gambo.
According to Khalid, the vigilant group members were ambushed while attempting to track down the kidnapped victims, who were taken during their journey to a burial site between Kakangi and Sabon Layi.
While the vigilantes managed to eliminate several terrorists during the encounter, they were unable to rescue the abducted village heads and the others taken by the assailants.
