Prince Harry’s Kaduna Visit: Vows support for wounded soldiers

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, made a heartwarming visit to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State to show his solidarity with soldiers wounded in action during his trip to Nigeria.

Upon his arrival at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna, the prince was greeted by Governor Sani, along with top Nigerian military officials and his aides.

Governor Sani praised Prince Harry for standing by the Nigerian Armed Forces and his dedication to supporting injured soldiers, recognizing the positive impact such visits have on boosting the morale of these courageous individuals.

Prince Harry emphasized his commitment to using the Invictus Games, which he established a decade ago, to bring joy to wounded Nigerian soldiers and their families during his stay in Nigeria.

In a gesture of customary hospitality, Governor Sani presented Prince Harry with gift items and dressed him in traditional Hausa attire as a token of appreciation.

Following their meeting, Prince Harry and his entourage paid a visit to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital to interact with wounded soldiers undergoing treatment, with the goal of bringing a message of hope and support to those in need.

While journalists were unable to access the hospital wards, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information, highlighted the positive impact of the prince’s visit on the lives of the soldiers and their families.

Last year, Nigeria participated in the Invictus Games in Germany, marking the first African country to take part with ten contestants from the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Prince Harry’s visit to Kaduna was reminiscent of his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s trip to the state 68 years ago, during the era of the late Premier of Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello.
