NJC warns 3 judges over judicial misconduct

The National Judicial Council (NJC), chaired by Chief Justice of Nigeria Olukayode Ariwoola, issued warning letters to three judges during its 105th meeting on May 15 and 16, 2024.

The reprimanded judges are Justice Amina Shehu of Yobe State High Court, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, and Justice GB Brikins-Okolosi of Delta State High Court.

Justice Amina Shehu received a warning for issuing a Writ of Possession without a valid court judgment. “Justice Inyang Ekwo was cautioned for misusing discretionary power by granting an improper ex parte order and faces a two-year ban on promotion”.
