Adamawa allocates N4.7 billion for stadium construction

Story from Usman UMAR

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has allocated N4.7 billion for the construction of a stadium to enhance sporting activities in Adamawa State.

The commencement of work on the first phase of the previously abandoned sports complex will provide a suitable venue to nurture the talents of young people in the state.

Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Barrister Wali Yakubu, mentioned that the project is expected to be finalised within 15 months.

“Sports has evolved beyond just a recreational activity. It now serves as a therapeutic outlet for individuals of all ages.

“It is a crucial component of a healthy lifestyle and has also become a lucrative industry with substantial returns on investment.

“To fully leverage the benefits of this growing industry, we must provide the necessary facilities to support it. The stadium complex is our initial investment in this venture,” he stated.

The contractor, Aron Nigeria Limited, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for prioritizing what they view as a significant project and pledged to complete it within the stipulated timeframe.

Similarly, Coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Mr. Justine Madugu, expressed appreciation to Governor Fintiri for launching the project.
