Bomai, Chiroma, wear new epaulettes as Customs board appoints 5 DCGs, 8 ACGs to fill vacancies, boost efficiency (Pictures)

The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has confirmed the appointment of 5 Deputy Comptrollers-General (DCGs) and 8 Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs) of Customs during its 59th regular meeting held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting, chaired by the Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, saw the confirmation of the appointments to fill vacancies created by recent retirements.

The appointments were made based on the principles of federal character, seniority, and merit.

The newly appointed DCGs include OO Peters, BM Jibo, BU Nwanfor, SA Bomai, and CK Niagwan, while the ACGs include B Imam, AAS Oloyede, SK Dangaladima, A Abdul Azeez, SA Yusuf, NP Umoh, CO Obih, and S Chiroma.

The Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, congratulated the newly confirmed officers and charged them to redouble their efforts to ensure the service attains greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and trade facilitation, amongst others.

The NCSB remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance. The appointments are a testament to the officers’ exemplary services and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service.
