Borno Police arrest 44 suspects of various crimes

The Borno State Police Command has apprehended 44 individuals for various offenses in the state.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the suspects were brought before the public at the Maiduguri police headquarters as part of the Operation Kam’ Dibi Frata, aimed at eliminating criminal activities and ensuring the safety of the people.
Among the offenses committed by the suspects were stealing of phones, attempted tricycle theft, breaking into stores, and theft of other valuables.
ASP Daso highlighted that the command has successfully tackled the increase in phone snatching and the involvement of youths in unlawful activities.
He said the operation resulted in the arrest of 22 individuals, confiscation of drugs and illicit substances, and enhanced surveillance.
“Specifically, 14 individuals were apprehended for phone snatching, 11 handsets were recovered, 3 individuals were arrested for breaking into stores and stealing items worth N195,000, one person was captured with stolen livestock valued at N200,000.
