Court prohibits Aminu Ado Bayero, 4 others from claiming Emir title
A Kano High Court has ordered the deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero to stop parading himself as emir and also directed the police commissioner to evict him from the mini palace at state road.
Reports have it that the court presided by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu gave the order on Monday, 27th May 2024.
The court said the order should be sustained till 11th June 2024 for hearing of the substantive motion.

It could be recalled that a Federal High Court sitting in Kano presided by Justice A.M Liman had last Thursday gave a restraining order over the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as Emir of Kano and the law establishing the dissolved five emirates in the state.
However, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf insisted that the judge who gave the order is in US, hence he vowed to report that matter to the Nigeria Governors Forum and there is nothing stopping the recognition of Muhammadu Sanusi II as Emir of Kano.
Hence Sanusi II moved into the emir’s palace and commence duties as Kano Emir of Friday.
However, on Saturday morning, Aminu Ado Bayero was out of town when he was deposed arrived Kano and was moved to a mini palace on State road under heavy security.
Later the Kano Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usaini Gumel with other security chiefs in the state said the order of the court restraining Sanusi as Emir would be followed to the later.
Similarly, the order restrained Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar II, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya from parading themselves as emirs of Bichi, Gaya Rano and Karaye.
The defendants in the suit are Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar II, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya, Inspector General of Police, Director Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigerian Army.
While the plaintiffs are the Attorney General of Kano State, the Speaker Kano State House of Assembly and Kano State House of Assembly.
