Former Kano governor’s residence engulfed in flames
The Kano residence of ex-governor Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau in Mundubawa has been engulfed by a fire, causing significant damage to the sitting room of his second wife, Halima Shekarau.
While the fire is believed to have originated in the kitchen, the exact cause remains unknown at this time. State Fire Service officials worked hard to extinguish the flames.
A source within the family shared that the fire began in the inner kitchen area.

He said, “we thank God the fire only affected one of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s sitting room and already the Fire Service officials are working to quench it.”
The spokesperson of the State Fire Service confirmed the Incident.
“We are still at the house and you know I cannot comment on anything now because we are still trying to make sure that the fire didn’t spread to other places”, he added.
