Gov. Zulum mourns death of his Special Adviser, Kester Ogualili

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, expressed profound sorrow at the demise of his Special Adviser on Community Relations, Chief Kester Ogualili.
Ogualili passed away on Friday afternoon at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital after battling a prolonged illness.
Governor Zulum conveyed his condolences to Ogualili’s family, associates, and Zenith Bank plc, where he had a longstanding career.
The governor’s sentiments were conveyed in a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bindi, on Saturday.
“I am saddened by the passing of Hon Kester Ogualili; he has served the people of Borno diligently for many years. Hon. Kester was a promoter of peace and a good ambassador of the Igbo community in Borno,” Zulum stated. He emphasized Ogualili’s role in fostering peaceful co-existence among residents.

Zulum offered prayers for Ogualili’s soul to rest in peace and for his family to find the strength to cope with the loss. Hon. Kester, of Igbo ethnicity, originally from Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra, spent most of his life in Borno State.
He served as the Special Adviser on Community Relations from 2011 to 2019 during Senator Kashim Shettima’s administration, later reappointed to the same position by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, and continued until his passing in January 2024.
