KACRAN applauds Governor Buni’s support for pastoralists, urges equitable palliative measures
The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has hailed Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State for his remarkable support towards pastoralists in the state. In a recent press statement by Hon. Khalil Mohd Bello, the National President of KACRAN, the association expressed deep appreciation for Governor Buni’s commitment to equity, justice, and fairness in serving all residents of Yobe State.
The commendation follows the ongoing distribution of palliatives across Yobe State, overseen by Dr. Mohammed Goje, the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). Under Dr. Goje’s leadership, the distribution has been characterised by its inclusivity, reaching pastoralists in remote rural areas as well as urban communities across all 17 Local Government Areas.
KACRAN highlighted the significance of this equitable approach, noting that it contrasts sharply with practices in other states where rural populations, particularly pastoralists, often receive inadequate attention in government interventions.

Yobe State SEMA’s consistent prioritization of pastoralists’ welfare aligns with Governor Buni’s commitment to justice and fairness, as evidenced by the distribution of both state and federally sourced palliatives.
In recognition of Governor Buni and Dr. Goje’s efforts, KACRAN expressed gratitude and called upon the federal government and other Northern governors to adopt similar equitable measures to ensure pastoralists receive their constitutional rights to equality and fair treatment.
“The association’s statement underscores the importance of upholding the welfare of all citizens, including pastoralists, in line with Nigeria’s constitutional principles”.
“The call for equitable treatment of pastoralists resonates not only in Yobe State but across Nigeria, where millions rely on pastoralism for their livelihoods”.
