Lokoja varsity suspends lecturer over alleged sexual harassment
The management of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has suspended a lecturer in the Department of English and Literary Studies over alleged sexual harassment of a 300L student from the same department.
A committee has been set up to investigate the matter and make recommendations to management within 24 hours. The accused has already been referred to the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to a press statement issued by the university management, the institution has a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual offences and is committed to handling the situation in a decisive, transparent, and timely manner.
The Senate of FUL is actively investigating the matter, and the management has assured members of the university community and the general public that it will take appropriate action to address the situation.

This development comes as the university community is increasingly concerned about sexual harassment and other forms of misconduct by lecturers and other staff members.
