Nigerian Army neutralises 7 terrorists in Borno, seizes weapons

A recent report from the Nigerian Army reveals that troops engaged in Counter-terrorism operations in the North East successfully eliminated seven terrorists and confiscated a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) along with 40 rounds of 7.62 x 51 mm belted ammunition.

Working closely with the Hybrid Force and Civilian Joint Task Force, the troops launched an ambush near the Lawanti area based on reliable intelligence about the terrorists’ movements.

The ensuing confrontation led to the neutralization of six terrorists, with the recovery of weapons secured afterwards.

Additionally, in a separate operation, troops staged an ambush at a suspected terrorists’ crossing point near Shetimari, Sabon-Gari, and the Amarwa Bulamari Exchange Point in Bama Local Government Area.

One terrorist was eliminated while the rest managed to escape, prompting ongoing efforts to pursue and capture them.

The soldiers’ unwavering dedication to combating terrorism remains steadfast, as they work in collaboration to enhance the safety and security of the region and other troubled areas within the country.

The army emphasises the importance of continued public cooperation in supporting their efforts to safeguard citizens from threats posed by adversaries.
