Police arrest Cameroonian, 2 other notorious kidnappers

The Delta State Police Command, in conjunction with the Force Intelligence Unit, Abuja, has apprehended three suspected notorious kidnappers.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, the suspects have been linked to numerous abduction cases in Orerokpe, Sapele, Warri, and surrounding areas.
The individuals in custody include Yakubu Ya’u (20), a resident of Kaduna who frequently travels to Oha and Ughwagba communities in Okpe LGA of Delta State to carry out kidnappings; Musa Yakubu (25) from Kogi State; and Abdulahi Mohammed (38) from Cameroon.

Edafe stated that Ya’u, who allegedly abducted individuals for ransom, was detained on May 11, 2024, leading to the capture of the other two suspects on May 12, 2024.
Authorities recovered two automatic pump action firearms, one live round, and a knife from their hideout. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining members of the gang
