Police detains man for allegedly defiling minor inside mosque bathroom

The Ogun State Police Command has captured a 40-year-old male worshipper named Abiola, also known as Aro, who was accused of defiling a 14-year-old minor (name withheld) at the Olorunloba Mosque bathroom situated on Ondo Street in the Ijebu-Tribute area of Ogun State.

Prior to Saturday’s occurrence, the suspect had been an individual from the mosque for over 15 years, according to an exclusive source.

Our correspondent learnt that the incident took place on Saturday, March 4, 2024, around 2:20 p.m., shortly after the Muslim prayer that had been held in the mosque throughout the afternoon had concluded.

In view of the data provided to the cops at the Igbeba Division, the survivor stated that she needed to ease herself and went to the mosque’s restroom to pass the stool.

She, in any case, further explained that she heard a knock on the door not long after she entered the bathroom.

Even though she had assumed the knock was from her younger brother, who had also come for the prayer, the survivor claimed that she was startled when she opened the door to find Aro standing there.

She let the police know that she was attempting to figure out why Aro was in the ladies’ bathroom when she surprisingly saw him by the doorway. He was said to have then supposedly pushed her back into the bathroom and constrained her up against the wall.

A police source who was aware of the report but however requested to remain anonymous since he was not approved to talk with the press told our correspondent that in spite of the survivor’s cries and supplications, Aro took off her jeans fiercely and stuck the youngster to the latrine wall prior to having fornication with of the young girl.

“The suspect has been captured and confined for supposed defilement. He will be moved to the State CID in Abeokuta following the fundamental investigation is completed,” Odutola expressed by means of a WhatsApp message on Sunday.

According to journalists, a related incident took place on April 26, 2024, when the command detained two brothers, Olamijuwon Noibi and Lukman Olatunbosun, in Oke-Eri, Atan-Ijebu, on suspicion of gang rape.

One of the suspects had fooled the survivor into coming to their apartment, where he supposedly attacked her physically and took steps to kill his more youthful sibling, Olatunbosun, with a blade after he would not partake in the crime.

Noibi was said to have likewise filmed the moment his sibling was supposedly having unlawful sex with the survivor.
