Police rescue seven abducted students of CUSTECH

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the successful rescue of seven more abducted students of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State.

This brings the total number of rescued students to 21.

The Commissioner of Police, SP William Aya, stated that the rescue operation involved deploying a specially trained helicopter crew and a monitoring team from the police’s security apparatus, as well as the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) to Kogi State.

“The additional rescue of seven more students was achieved through the diligent efforts of the combined team, demonstrating the IGP’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians, especially school children,” he said.

The Kogi State Government and the university community expressed satisfaction with the ongoing rescue operations and praised the cooperation and collaboration among security agencies, local vigilantes, and hunters in the state.

The Commissioner of Police expressed gratitude to the IGP for deploying the air component and acknowledged the dedication of security personnel, vigilantes, and hunters in the rescue mission.

He called for continued support and solidarity from the people of Kogi State to ensure the safety of law-abiding citizens in the state.
