Thugs beat up soldiers at Banex market in Abuja, chaos ensues (Video)
A violent altercation between suspected thugs and soldiers in uniform erupted at the popular Banex Market in Wuse, Abuja, on Saturday, causing widespread commotion.
The reason for the incident is currently unknown, but eyewitnesses report that a disagreement between some individuals and the soldiers led to the attack.
In a video of the incident, a group of young men were seen arguing with two soldiers before breaking into groups and attacking their targets. A man in mufti was also attacked by the mob, but it is unclear if he is also a soldier.
An armed mobile policeman attempted to restore order but was ignored by the thugs.

Traders were seen locking up their shops to avoid being affected by a potential reprisal. The military authorities have not yet commented on the incident, but the attack on soldiers is a serious incident that may lead to further action.
The military has previously launched operations in response to attacks on its personnel, such as the operation in Okuama, Delta State, two months ago.
