Village Head brutally slaughtered in Kaduna, community mourns loss

It was a tragic morning for the people of Marke, Makarfi local government on Thursday, 2- May- 2024. I woke up to the news of the death of the village head who was brutally murdered by unidentified men.
Neptune Prime correspondent, Idris paid a visit to the community to investigate the hideous act. According to an eyewitness, “Unidentified men invaded the community of Marke, broke into the house of the village head, tied him up, slaughtered him like an animal, and set the house ablaze.”
“They executed this terrible act after they had sent all occupants of the house out.”
From investigations conducted by Neptune Prime, nothing was taken out of the house, and neither was anybody abducted. From all indications, they were there to primarily carry out the gruesome murder.

It’s deeply saddening to hear about such heinous acts of violence within a community. The fact that nothing was taken from the house indicates that the perpetrators’ primary motive was to carry out the gruesome murder.
Speaking with Honourable Kabiru Mu’azu Miyare, the local government chairman of Makarfi LGA, who expressed his dismay at the disheartening act. The chairman stated, “We are praying fervently to the Almighty to help us apprehend the perpetrators as we do everything within our power to apprehend them.”
Honourable Kabiru, extended his condolences to the family members of the slain village head as well as the people of Marke community.
Honourable Isyaku Ibrahim a member house of representative, representing the community, confirmed the unfortunate incident. The chairman said “We have made prayers to bring perpetrators to book crucial. While we do our best to maintain peace in the community and take all necessary actions to fish out those behind this gruesome murder.”

He also urged all citizens to pray for peace in the nation.
However, It’s commendable to see local government officials and representatives like Honourable Kabiru Mu’azu Miyare and Honourable Isyaku Ibrahim taking swift action and expressing solidarity with the affected community. Their commitment to apprehending the perpetrators and maintaining peace in the area is crucial during such challenging times.
Let’s hope that justice is served swiftly, and measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. My condolences go out to the family of the slain village head and the entire Marke community.
