Yobe Police arrest 22-year-old phone thief for stabbing salesgirl
The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man, Sani Musa, popularly known as Regis Oga Soja at Nayi Nawa ward in Damaturu for stabbing a 24-year-old salesgirl and snatching her cell phone.
Police Public Relations Officer in the Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed the arrest in a statement, saying the culprit was nabbed on 30th April, 2024 at about 2330hrs.
Abdulkarim said Musa was arrested in a hideout having the snatched cellphone – Itel A663LC/MTN Sim Card and assorted charms in his possession.

DSP Dungus said the culprit unequivocally confessed to committing the crime when interviewed by the police.
He added that, “No stone will be left unturned.”
He quoted the Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed to express relief with the address, describing the operation as effective and timely.
CP Garba also encouraged officers to maintain the tempo and make Yobe State inhabitable for criminals.
He commended members of the communities for their unwavering support in the fight against crime and assured that proactive measures have been put in place to avert future occurrence.
