Police arrest killer of UNIBEN student in Delta, confesses to multiple murders

Police authorities in Edo State have made a significant breakthrough with the arrest of the suspected killer of Glory Adekolure, a recent graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

The tragic incident unfolded when Adekolure, who had gone to submit her project on June 13, 2024, was later discovered lifeless under a tree in Benin City’s Iyowa Community.

According to Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, the suspect was apprehended in Asaba, the capital city of neighboring Delta State, fifteen days after Adekolure’s death.

The police have refrained from parading the suspect, emphasizing an ongoing investigation into the matter.

“Shockingly, during preliminary interrogations, the apprehended suspect purportedly admitted to not only the killing of Glory Adekolure but also to the murders of at least seven other young women”.
