Heroic Escape: Abducted Taraba housewife escapes kidnappers’ den

Amina Adamu, one of the three housewives who were taken captive on the Takum-Katsina-Ala road in Takum local government area of Taraba state a month ago, has managed to escape from the clutches of her kidnappers.

According to a relative of her husband, Mallam Maiwada, Amina seized the opportunity to flee while the kidnappers were asleep.

Tragically, the two other housewives and the daughter of General T.Y. Danjuma’s brother remain in captivity.

Sources reveal that two individuals who were involved in negotiating ransom for the release of the captives are also being held by the kidnappers.

Mr. Benjamin, the brother of General T.Y. Danjuma, was kidnapped alongside his wife and daughter. While he was released after a ransom was paid, his wife and daughter are still being held against their will.

Worrisomely, residents in Takum continue to live under the threat of kidnappers who operate with impunity along the Takum-Katsina-Ala and Takum-Kashinbila roads.

Bello Haruna, a local resident, expressed serious concerns about the risks associated with traveling along these routes due to the pervasive activities of the kidnappers.

Many individuals, predominantly traders, have fallen victim to these criminal acts, with countless still enduring captivity.
