4 individuals drown in Niger state while escaping bandit attack
A group of villagers escaped from a bandit attack in the Gurmana community of Shiroro local government area in Niger State, only to face tragedy as their boat capsised, resulting in the drowning of four individuals.
Reports indicate that the villagers sought refuge on an island on the River Kaduna to evade the bandits on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately, the boat mishap occurred on their journey back on Thursday, following the bandits’ raid on their community.

The villagers resorted to using the island in the middle of the river as a hiding spot, as bandits are known to avoid river areas.
The bandits were responsible for the deaths of three individuals in the previous night’s attack, as well as the theft of cattle and the kidnapping of several individuals in Bassa, near Gurmana.
