Adamawa man kills neighbour after false promise of weath

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 36-year-old man, Aliyu Yakubu, for the murder of one Bassey Isah.
The victim and culprit are both residents of Jalingo Daddawa Village in Hong local government area of Adamawa State.
According to Suleiman Yahaya, the spokesman of the police command, Yakubu deceived and unlawfully acquired three sacks of maize and other valuables from the victim by pretending to have the ability to print and generate Nigerian currency.
He persuaded Bassey to give him a Toyota Starlet car, a motorcycle, and a tricycle in exchange for promised wealth, and later led the victim to a forest where he fatally struck him with an iron rod and buried his body.
Yahaya said the suspect confessed to the crimes and will be charged with armed robbery and culpable homicide, punishable by death, following the completion of all investigations.
