Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, former Chief of Defence Staff, is dead
Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, a former Chief of Defence Staff, has peacefully passed away after a brief illness.
According to family sources, he had been facing health challenges due to age-related sickness for several weeks before his passing in his home in Abuja on an early Sunday morning.
“Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi transitioned peacefully to the next phase of his journey,” a family source shared.

Serving as Chief of Defence Staff from 1999 to 2003, the late Admiral was a trailblazer, becoming the first Naval officer to attain the prestigious four-star rank in the Nigerian military.
He also held the distinction of being the first Chief of Defence Staff from the Navy.
Hailing from Okura, Lafia in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, the late Chief of Defence Staff leaves behind a legacy of service and dedication to his country.
