APC calls for Kwankwaso’s arrest over comments linking FG to Boko Haram

The Kano State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas, has called on security agencies to arrest Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the former Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), over some comments he made linking the federal government to Boko Haram terrorists.
Earlier, Kwankwaso made some accusations against the APC-led federal government, alleging that it is attempting to create a new breed of Boko Haram terrorists in Northern Nigeria.
The former Kano State Governor made the claims during a ceremony in Madobi, where he launched the construction of an 85-kilometre rural road project valued at N21 billion.
In reaction, Abbas issued a statement condemning Kwankwaso’s comments, saying no amount of threat from the former governor of Kano state could intimidate the federal government.
Abbas urged security agencies to detain Kwankwaso so he could identify those he alleged are working against Kano and recruiting Boko Haram insurgents.
Abbas stated, “We want to call on security agents in the strongest terms to arrest this man so that he reveals the identity of those he referred to as enemies of the state working for the federal government to recruit Boko Haram terrorists and insurgents.”
The APC chairman accused Kwankwaso of having a history of being a security threat to Kano and the nation.

“Kwankwaso has for long been a security threat to Kano and the nation in view of his antecedents.
“He runs a movement in which he has been widely accused of recruiting youth, mostly school dropouts to unleash terror on people in the state,” he stated.
Abbas also noted that during the legal battles over the governorship election, Kwankwaso and his associates allegedly threatened judges of the Election Petition Tribunal.
He also accused Kwankwaso of contributing to the recruitment of armed thugs stationed at the Emir’s Palace, involved in illicit activities and posing a threat to residents.
