Bayelsa gov’t condoles Arewa community over murder of Plateau Riders manager, promises justice

The Bayelsa State Government has pledged to identify and prosecute the murderers of Plateau Riders Manager, Alhaji Auwalu Aliyu, who was killed in Yenagoa.

Neptune Prime reports that Aliyu was murdered by suspected armed robbers, who took his money and

belongings before killing him.

The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, assured the Arewa community of the government’s commitment to capturing and bringing to justice the killers of Alhaji Aliyu.

Ewhrudjakpo, representing the state government, also expressed condolences to the family of late Alhaji Aliyu, the Plateau State Government, and the Arewa community in the state following the murder of their member in a robbery in Yenagoa.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo instructed the police to put in all effort in arresting those responsible for the heinous crime as soon as possible, emphasizing that the government sees the incident as a challenge.

He urged all security agencies to increase their efforts in protecting the lives and property of citizens by identifying and apprehending suspected criminals in the state.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo advised the Arewa community to remain calm and refrain from taking revenge as the state police are actively working to apprehend the culprit.

He stressed that Bayelsans have also been victims of similar situations and that the armed robbery against Aliyu was not an attack on the Arewa community.

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, Mr Elonyenu Francis Idu, assured the government that measures were being taken to bring the perpetrators to justice through the use of technology and cooperation with the community.

The Secretary General of the Arewa Community, Bayelsa Chapter, Kadzai Bitrus Dauda, praised the state government for creating a peaceful environment for both residents and non-residents to live and conduct business in peace.
